• The diesels appear to have more engine issues (timing chain, turbo, swirl flaps, fuel pump, depending on model) but I think the high milers will have already had that stuff sorted.

  • So a E61 520d with 185k miles on the clock is a bad idea? Haven't seen it in person, but from the listing it seems to be a well looked after car + it's had most of the classic problems fixed (rear wiper, compressor for self levelling, cable through hatch, etc)

    On a w124 it wouldn't be any problems at all if well looked after
