I don't like the Standard any more than you do, even less so now that George Osborne is editor. The problem is that it remains London's main newspaper, so I feel the need to use it for London stories. It's true that most stories like the one above can probably be found in local papers, but they're all (or at least most) owned by fairly large newspaper conglomerates like Archant nowadays, anyway, so I don't see too much of a difference there. I think I don't fall for too much clickbait any more, and the stories above to me certainly aren't clickbait, but genuine news.
