Andrew Suzuki in first place has a similarly minimal setup. Looks like he's out for a day ride! :)

My friend Andy (Lawrence) is racing too, he's got some distance pedigree, should be good to watch.

Always interesting to see the aero vs weight vs (perceived) reliability compromises people make. TT bike and hoody is an interesting choice. Relatively few dynamos too.

Hippy packing the kitchen sink just in case

• #357
Nice to see hippy has packed for others as well as himself

Can't help but admire that he seems to have decided to bypass any complicated aero carbon weight-saving by just taking minimal stuff on what looks a fairly stock bike.

Reminds me of a certain three-time TCR winner.

It's just full of food.

Hippy's tracker doesn't seem to be updating often, nothing in 7hs now.
-
• #362
Yeah, I just went to check it. Hope it's a tracker blip, not a major sleep or something worse.

He's not tweeted anything since taping up his nipples yesterday evening...
-
• #364
It's been updating sporadically even when it was updating.
Maybe cell signal is bad in the hills. -

He's updated. Appears he stopped for a long sleep. Good, he's sticking to the long game.
-
• #366
It'll average out to some extent right? Well rested.

Rim tape issue...
Gooch problems again?
-

Twitter line lists him complaining about the snow and finding a bike shop to get a new rim tape. The suzuki guy seems to be nailing it.
-
• #373
Anyone know anything about him?
-
• #374
Nope but did we know the guy doing a year in the saddle (campervan downhill ) before .

Looks like Hippy is approaching an airport, potential lead taking move right there
no idea who he is - but I meant the bike as well as his kit - some Cannondale superlight thing?
I agree some are taking too much but it looks like he's barely got room for any repair kit and food together, let alone anything else.
