I'm fairly sure 'lifelong serial liar' is the main qualification to be a spokesman for the Tories.

Yep, after I wrote it,
I looked at the sentence, and wondered if I was trolling myself.

IDS seemed to think that people are only stirred up by information on the internet,
rather than anything to do with repeated invasions of Muslim countries by the US and its allies.
