255mm actually, but with 38mm that now become my choice of tyres, a little lower, maybe 251mm.
It's a problem if you have clip and strap pedal but with clipless, you don't need that high a BB.

Not much difference, DA 10 speed stuff, 48/34 chainset and 12-27 cassette.
Will fit SRAM Force shifter without the paddle (it's a nicer shape than the S900) soon.

On the Oak, yes.

Very nice.
I really like that you didn't go for the obvious parts and trends. Gumwalls, discs, bar end shifters or brifters etc etc. Very understated but beautiful build.

I went for the tried and tested method, ironically I never thought about going on gravel/towpath when specced with 650b x 42mm in the first place.
The newer more ambitious one will actually going against the trends, such as going for 120mm spacing and 5/6 speed instead of the standard 130mm.

Actually from Spa Cycles with TA ring, in 48/34, can't go lower than 48 annoyingly as the braze on sit high.

The second time the Oak enter the London-Edinburgh-London, it is the most comfortable bicycle I have ever ridden in my life, so much moreso than in 2013.
It will be the final audax it'll enter as it'll be superseded by an even more appropriated 650b randonneur.
Very sad, but very happy.

Did you sell your VBC already?

Ed,
Could you tell which head angle, seat tube angle and rake you have gone for with this and your other rando bike? And why... Do you have any links to articles on rando geometry. So far I have only found talk about wheel sizes and vague talk about loads of rake. -

What happened to this bike in the end? it's one of my favourites - I've reached out to Oak about building something similar for myself, but had no response.
