Start talking to your district committee now, most of them are likely to have promoted events before and can walk you through the process. The actual administration isn't too hard, the more difficult part is usually rounding up the necessary man power to help out on the day. Read the guidance notes, particularly GN10 as it gives a clear schedule of what to do and when.

Does anyone have any experience of organising an open TT event? Have been asked to try set one up for Sep/Oct for my uni next year. I'm a bit cynical if it can be done given the time available/inexperience of organising such an event. Could anyone share their experiences? Try set one up/avoid/too late
