Threaded headset/Ahead stem interface will always looks shit. Get steerer extended by a framebuilder and live happy with 1" aheadset
-
• #4603
To my eyes that isn't threaded with Ahead converter, though might be massively mistaken.
-
• #4604
You are right. It is treadless setup. Fork steerer is long enough to use treadless headset.

Ah so.

I didn't say that it was. I can not see the image Ordinata is posting. I am just saying what Purists would say to converters.

I don't think he posted one, but replied to stepan's Colnago without using the reply button. :p

That makes sense. And also that bike looks lovely.

Ah sorry man — thought Ordinata's post was about the 'nago/
-
• #4610
Ha. It was about the nago.
I was on about the transition from threadless/threaded steerer to ahead.
Regardless of converters it is still odd when the stem is fatter than the headtube.
Jesus.

Can you recommend anyone?

I can agree fatter stem looks odd. Bit this setup is sooo light (100gr stem + 250gr handlebar). Anyway, may be someone could advice good 1" stem for 31.8mm handlebars? If such exists :)

Only custom I think. Your bike looks great. Keep it like that.

Sexy!
I love the wheels, would deep rims be too much?

I had 50mm before, think it looks better with the skinny rims though

Deep section when you feel filthy and rude, and skinny for best in show :)
Would the purist make judgement on the ahead converter? 😬
