For me its a reverse race... training keeps me in the "not-race"... Otherwise the lot of you will be back in London before I see the beach.

Should be in for this again with a motley crew in tow
-
• #106
Should be in on the tandem. Will probably be cycling over to Diss /Stowmarket for a train but may just cycle back (after a nap).

I'll be coming back from 'straya for this. Hoping the jet lag will come in handy.

I have every intention of doing it this year, but haven't ridden more than 35 miles since forever.
Is it a bad idea or will the DD fairies carry me to the end?
-
• #110
Im heavily considering doing this and my longest ride ever was 60 miles.

If I can get through the Ditchling devil this weekend without trouble, i'll be seriously considering riding back. The coaches last year were a bit of a nightmare - and the flies were something else entirely.

Route back to Stowmarket is pretty easy. Retrace steps to Framlingham, then go to Debenham (avoid the A1120), cross the A140 (again, avoid) at Mickfield and you're basically there.
Never done the train back from there on the Sunday (have the luxury of parents who live in Suffolk) but as others have said, it'll be a limited spaces in the guard's van job down to Liverpool street. The line to Cambridge has been crazy unreliable recently from Stowmarket, cancelled trains all over the place.

God, had forgotten about those flies

I'm doing it and don't think I've ridden more than 20 miles this year... Maybe not since last July.

You're never alone on the DD!
(Unless you take a wrong turn) -
• #120
I learned early in my DD career to always sprint to the front of a group before confidently taking a wrong turn, that way at least a few people follow you.

Bobert and I are definitely still in, albeit with coach of doom tickets back.

What's the forum-approved meeting time at the start?
-
• #123
8.30 - 9.00 seems to be the time when the majority start.
-
• #124
In order to have a chance of winning you need to get going by 8pm.

No need to refer you to rule 5!
I still have a return coach ticket available for a forum donation.
