And FYI for anybody reading this thread. ANYTHING on ebay that is listed very cheap, in china with 0 feedback is a SCAM. No exceptions
-
• #57457
There's no feedback because they sell one item, take the money and disappear then open a new account to do it again.
-
• #57459
Yeah forgot to check the feedback. There is a whole host of those bianchis for £35 to £48.
^Indeed. Also where they are getting their pictures from.

Usually Old legit listings provide the pictures and description.
They copy it word for word..
-
• #57461
We should ask if they'd price match

Couple of Summers ago, along the southern Turkish Aegean coast, all the 'street urchins' were riding Tourney equipped no suspension moutain bike shaped 'Bianchi's.
Presumably someone imported a couple of containers of Bianchi labelled bsos. -

This has been repeated so often recently I think there should be some kind of sticky for it. Doesn't look like these scams are going away any time soon.

Cynic that I am, but how the fuck is it not immediately obvious that it's a scam?
Are people relying on the 1:1000000 possibility that someone with no ebay history to speak of with object with known value of x has just decided to sell it at x-90% out of the goodness of their hearts or blind stupidity? I guess it could be possible, yeah.

Completely agree. Many of us have clocked this obvious scam but it's getting annoying having to repeatedly tell people they are scams
-
• #57472
Initially I started reporting the listings to ebay but it just seems that there's that many of them now that I cant be bothered. Does sadden me when I click on one and it tells you how many people are watching it since one of them will likely lose their money
-
• #57473
im sure they'll get a refund eventually
-
• #57474
You think it would be such an epidemic if the people weren't making any money from it? they take your money, close the account and they're gone. I'm not sure whether ebay will pay you out of their pocket or whether thats too much "buyer protection"
-
• #57475
I reckon ebay / paypal are the only ones that lose out. I thought buyer protection guarantees that sort of thing...?
Wouldn;t bother testing it to find out though!
Great potential for a refurb project
