If water is available I'll carry a couple of normal gels with me. If I don't have anything to carry water (because it's not going to be warm/hot) then I'll use High5 Isogels which have extra water in them to make them isotonic.
I can get through anything up to an HM on an empty stomach but that's generally flat stuff.
Yeh I've been up to 25km on an empty stomach, but the last few weeks have been off. Not sure what's going on. Its as if my legs are done before I've started running.
