I was at reading a few years ago when, on the last day of the season, they thought they'd got into the playoffs and invaded the pitch en masse.
Turns out they'd made a mistake and hadn't qualified. Harsh but I must admit I laughed as they all collapsed to the ground in despair after giving it large 30 seconds ago.

That was a particular low point #notonpitch

Tuchel has left Dortmund. No surprise really given he's been very open in criticising Michael Zorc's transfer policy as well as the chairman following the bomb incident.
Interesting timing though with Wenger due for talks with the Arsenal board.

The only way he'll leave Arsenal is in a wooden box.

What are the odds of Tuchel being drafted in as a second in command? Know Wenger likes to be in full control but surely he'll start succession planning soon?
-
• #136459
Zero. Wenger will never cede control to anyone. Tuchel would never work under the conditions Wenger would impose.

Arsenal need to fuck off wenger and grab tuchel with both hands, or better yet, get a pre contract agreement with him that he's next in line to take over Arsenal. Whether that's after a year because they've put a club option into wengers current contract or two if they haven't.
Though it depends on whether tuchel wants to get straight back into management or take a "sabbatical". -
• #136461
erm no. They need to keep Wenger for as long as possible
-
• #136462
That won't happen as long as Kroenke remains in control. Wenger delivers what he wants, so he's not going to replace him.

• #136463
So when is Usmanov going to take at Everton?
-
• #136464
I wonder what those lightly opinionated Arsenal fans make of Usmanov 's vlogging efforts.
I'm just happy Roman keeps a relatively low profile...

TWO MORE YEARS....

• #136466
...at least.

Don't know what to say. Great performance on Sat but those annual Nov-Jan collapses...
-
• #136468
Surely he'll do one year, get back in the Champions League and then call it a day with one year left on the contract?

Tuchel has done well at Dortmund but fell out with nearly everyone at the club. He also hasn't got much european experience. Rumour is he's off to Leverkusen. I'm really not that fussed about missing out on him. Allegri, Simeone or Enrique would be best options. But Kroenke wants to see a few more years of profitable Wenger. Fuck this. I'm out.

I wouldn't pin my hopes on any of those heading to Arsenal, and not sure the fans would stomach the defensive/counter attacking football on offer from Simeone. Who have wobbled as simeone has tried to make them more attacking rather than the tireless runners and defenders they were when they won the league...
Think there will be loads of turmoil once wenger goes! Though I'm now really interested to see who Dortmund have in their sights, and whether this means a firesale of attractive footballing assets...

Rumour is Lucien Favre, but his Monchengladbach were wildly inconsistent and far less tactically versatile so he seems like a bit of a backwards step from Tuchel in my opinion.
Leverkusen would be a massive backwards step for Tuchel in terms of size of club, and although they have a good squad it'd also be a big challenge. The Roma job is also available and I'm sure he'd be a good fit alongside Monchi. But then I doubt Emery will last the summer at PSG so that'd make him a shoe in for the Roma job.

Billy Davies is always available.

OK, so I do know what the title of this thread is, but I do believe that there may be some crossover with cricket!
Anyway, I have a spare ticket for the Champions Trophy at the Oval on Saturday, Sri Lanka v South Africa (£40)
let me know if you're interested.

Dom solanke now at liverpool they have got a talented young player shame he didnt want to stay at chelsea, but the club would have got a good fee and didnt want to retain him. Good luck to him on his pro career

Didn't he go on a free? His dad was trying to hold Chelsea to ransom over a new contract... He'll live to regret it...
Yep, pleased for Huddersfield. Reading have pissed about up and down the last 12/15yrs or so.
Shit club, shit ground and shit fans...one of the worst ever away days
