I've just picked up a nice Velo Orange front rack but it's a little bit too short on the old a/c length.
I need two plates that will be able to be connected between the bottom struts of the rack and the front rack/mudguard eyes. The top of the rack will fit the crown but isn't adjustable at all. Any thoughts?

Anyone got a recommendation for a front rack to fit my 1987 Rockhopper? 26" wheels, cantis and no mid leg eyelets.
Want to take front panniers and support a bag or attach a bag.

I believe Surly Nice rack, Slackburn outpost, Soma or Pealgo would full fill both those needs I think assuming you have mudguard mounts and a drilled crown.
If not a cheaper way of doing it would be with two racks like this:

Got a pelago rack on a 90s 26" kona and use it with front panniers and plus an additional bag on the platform. Works a charm. Recommend.

Pelago commuter rack. Every time.
Fitting can be a bit fiddly, but they are really stable once they're on. -

Loaded up with tools for a thing, with my new bags it's just perfect for everything now.
