    Not seen this interview but can imagine it.

    I went to a play once a few years ago, and one of the poor actors had a stumble - completely unable to remember his lines.

    He graciously broke character, addressed the audience, unnecessarily apologised and explained how terrible it was when you had a mental block then accepted his cue from another actor and got on with it.

    I accept that you couldn't get away with that explanation ("Corbyn gets mental block under pressure, cannot win Brexit!!!" headlines); but, yes, you'd have thought they could come up with something better that he can just say in response to 99% of these 'fact' questions than stumbling around.
