just a big shout out for two of my LBSs
Push in Newington Green. done two big jobs for me recently and they are all awesome in there but particular thanks to Mike. got some nice bits in there too.
also, good service in Pedal Pedlar on Balls Pond Road. and for vintage race bikes and gear this place is well worth a call

I don't suppose anyone happens to know a decent central London shop that could do a bike service today/tomorrow? I could do with both hubs servicing and trueing the rear wheel ahead of the weekend. FullCity, who are my faves, are full unfortunately.
Does anyone have any experience of The Bicycle Man on Old Street?

I'm looking for an LBS for a workmate, he needs to service a mountain bike and lives on the Greenwich Peninsula.
Can anyone recommend a good place around there?
-
• #49
Does it require specific MTB expertise, i.e. fork or shock service? If so he might have to travel.

I doubt it.
By the sound of it this is a commodity £500 mountain bike that is about 5 years old, and has spent the last 2 years locked in a garden with only occasional use.
I suspect a lot of rusted bolts, and the drive train requiring a load of attention, wheels checked, and not much else... basic service stuff.
He's just in shock at the idea that a service may be £90 (a fifth of the brand new cost in his mind). He now accepts the price of a decent service, I just want to help him with a recommendation that at least says it will be a decent service.
de ve cycles in norbury. always been very kind to me.
