Must have been. I thought yesterday Quintana didn't look like giving it all he had, just 3 pedal strokes whenever he was in front and Pinot doing slightly longer turns but looking completely exhausted every time he came off the front. Still, I'd think Pinot would have done a better tt, cause he's the French tt champ.

Riding a one off TT like a national champs, is very, very different from riding one at the end of a GT.
I've been disappointed at Pinot's TTing in this Giro, over the past two seasons he's really improved in this area so I thought he'd do better than he did. I'd have liked to see him on the final podium today, but 4th in this company and a stage win is something to be proud of.

I think he was paying the price for his efforts in the preceding three stages.
