I've had a pair of 35c marathon supremes on since November, and they're perishing and cracking really badly on the centre, harder-compound, part of the tread. The bike is stored out of direct sunlight, so maybe they were just a dodgy batch, but I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anybody. Saying that: I've probably done about 4000 miles on them, and they're not showing much wear, and they do give a good ride. They were impressively grippy when they were new, but that's faded as the rubber has started to perish.
Another +1 for Marathon Supreme. Have them on the tandem and the town bike, they've held up really well. Only punctures I've had have been a pinch flat (my own damn fault) and a slice to the sidewall (the one vulnerability of the Supreme). Nothing through the tread at all.
