  • Tune Mig 70 / Mag 170 hubs with a Campagnolo freehub laced to a set of 30mm deep (25mm wide) carbon rims from Xiamen Carbon Speed. The rims have a unique braking surface that is super grippy and doesn't overheat on long descents. They also brake extremely well in wet weather. I used these wheels to test the effect of a heavy rider (me, 92kg) on a set of shallow section, low spoke count (20/24) carbon wheels, and they performed without issues over the three months I rode them. They've only been ridden around 1000-miles. The rear wheel rim is asymmetric, basically meaning they will stay truer for longer.

They are a lovely set of wheels that are still bang on true - built by me in February with Sapim CX-Ray spokes and brass nipples. The rear wheel has a very small amount of play which is very likely the bearings, though it might be the effect of the washers / spacers on the axles which may need a slight adjustment. It's hardly noticeable at all however.

The wheels are taped up for standard clincher use, but they're tubeless ready. The total weight of the wheels is 1383g with rim tape. I'll also throw in a set of ENVE qr skewers and ENVE brake pads. SOLD

  • Dibs pending freehub questions (need a shimano freehub)
    Pm'ed

  • If you are going 11 speed a campag cassette will work fine. So no need for a new freehub.

  • 2nd dibs if it falls through

  • All yours if you want them.

  • Interested pending shimano free hub for 10sspeed?

  • Apologies, undibs. Something else on the horizon

  • No problem - wheels still available. Now £SOLD delivered.

  • Seriously nice.

  • Still available - also throwing in a set of ENVE brake pads and skewers

  • Seriously good deal, sorely tempted just wish the hubs weren't red!

  • Still here.

  • Why are you selling?

  • I have a gazillion wheels - surplus to needs.

  • And I vouch for his builds. Got the same rims build on dt hubs by Mike and they are top notch.
    Have a bump.

  • If there here on Monday I'll take them.

    Pmd

  • Interesting brake surface. Have you got a link?

  • I can't help but think these would have flown off had they not been campag fit. Campag's cassettes are batshit crazy expensive compared to shimmy.

  • next question - what do you estimate (or know, if you know these things) is max safe rider weight?

  • Tested at 92kg, and no ill effects, so I'd say that should be about the max.

  • Last chance saloon before I offer these elsewhere - £SOLD.

  • Wow, they are sexy!!!!

  • These are nice.

Regarding the rear wheel. Is there anything you could do to investigate what's going on with that hub?

  • I could, but I literally don't have the time, hence the stupidly low price.
