  • Very white tho. You need to be careful with that-even the slightest blemish will reveal itself and ruin those optimal gramming moments

  • Oh that's quite a lot compared to armoutex. More because of the ss couplers?

  • No idea tbh

  • It's OK. Amey saved $$$ on the groupset and wheels.

Because of this bike I wish I'd never heard about this forum.

  • Better get this ready you really want to take the Dreck to the alps?

I thought it was worth posting a note about an incident on last weekend’s BCM.
    ..................
We also had a catastrophic failure of a Trek headset bearing. The headset arrangement looked very flimsy in view of the forces transmitted through the headset bearings but it just splintered into several bits and left the bike unrideable."
If you have one of these - do check it. It may be a one - off or possibly more widespread, so collecting data is handy...

  • But then what speaks for the Dreck your power to weight is nx<EC1 so shouldn't be a problem.

  • your power to weight is nx<EC1

    I LOLed

  • @amey, Ho has got his seatmast. Pressures on to get this finished first

  • I was riding near the Tate Modern this morning, and I was thinking about how art changes and how people change (that's the slogan of the Tate by the way) and then, as I pulled up to the lights to head East, I saw the bike in the picture below. This is the DBAD bike. This is the frame that @amey said he'd brazed on Paul mounts to and disassembled with couplers, something akin to re-arranging the bones of a person or changing the DNA sequence of a person to turn it into one of those Jude Law pleasure-bots from A.I. And in the process dragging the entire community through 44 text pages mixed media and assemblagĂ©s of ephemera. I took a photograph of amey's bike below as I wanted unpack the hegemonic narrative that amey's created by this Painted White Falsehood. I understand it's also a self-serving way to insert my own personhood into @amey hagiography of privileged Eurocentric S+S couplers but I also I think it redistributes power to back to 'spaces and objects' as things of value, especially pre-modern steel frames like this. Anyway, here is the photo. I think it's import the whole community Weigh in on it

  • This is exactly what I am/was trying to achieve.

  • also that stem height? pukes on cock

  • disc brakes are dead is dead.

  • Post-Disc Brake?

  • I'm traumatised by the whole affair.

  • Jokes over, lets all go home

  • The real chance of it being built is 4th of June. Just need to get to @Sparky 's and get that headset press

  • Looking forward to seeing the finished build. The thread has been a rollercoaster.

  • Looking forward to seeing the finished build.

Don't lie, unless you mean it in a way that a terminally ill person or a person with a great debilitating illness looks forward to death as a sweet release and an end to their suffering.

  • I'm looking forward to seeing it in the same way I watch WTCC racing and hope for rain so they all spin off the road.

  • We're doing a timelapse of this build on my GoPro. It must be recorded for future generations.

"They should have sent a poet."

  • "We"?

And I naively thought this would be a victimless crime #pray4sp4rk13
