Oh looks like they're sold now. Pink Pompino is awesome

It's amazing how much nicer the Pomp looks with a proper fork.
I'm sure you've shared before, but who made that one for you?

• #6729

So you basically cut an exact mask, that must have taken ages. Did the paint take fine to the painted and lacquered frame or did you do some prep?
-
• #6735
Yes, correct. It took 3/4 hours cleaning+tape masking+spray painting, however as i said it is quite a rough paintjob, 1 layer+some corrections and no lacquer, i think i'll spray some lacquer soon. I previously cleaned with degreaser and passed some fine sandpaper to remove imperfections, nothing else

It is not that perfect, i cut tape in 30mins circa and you ll be able too see this as soon as i ll take some better photos
-
• #6737
Interesting, what was putting me off painting mine was all the preparation work. I didn't think that a spray paint would stick to the lacquered frame.

Does anyone know what's the biggest tyre that fits Kinesis DC37? It looks like there's a lot clearance, so I'm thinking of putting some 29" tyre in there to make the front more plush. I know it might look a bit weird on the pomp with 35c in the back, but I don't really care. Might just need to ask some 29er friends to try on their front wheels.

What surly forks are people putting on pompetamines?
-
• #6740
Straggler I think (if it's disc).
Canti is usually Cross Check or LHT.

Disc trucker works great on my Pompino

Any medium or large pompino frames knocking about? Preferably v3 onwards

I've been riding my Pomp fixed recently and would like to clean up the back end but still retain the ability to go back to freewheel and 2 brakes if I want.
I've already removed the toptube cable guides as with no cable in them, they were catching and tearing my shorts. I plan to braze on a couple guides for full length outer at some point.
Full length outer = (mini) V brake so I can pretty safely lose the cable stop on the wishbone, I've never used the rack eyes so will fill them in either with weld or braze.
That leaves the brake posts. I'm thinking I could cut the post part off, leaving the base of the mount and tap these to accept threaded posts.
I know some of you will say what's the point, just leave it all on there, but I like things clean and simple and the clutter around that area is annoying me.
