• GF had 2 dangerous close passes from the same bus today which then promptly stopped right in front of her both times. She was a bit shaken up as a colleague of hers was killed by a bus while cycling on the same stretch of road the other week. She recorded the details: reg, company, colour, route, time etc. and phoned the local police and was told that so far as they are concerned it was "just a matter of opinion", my GF "thought it was a dangerous pass, but obviously the driver didn't". I think that they took a record of the call but the officer said that in future it was better to report similar incidents to the offending company rather than to the police.

I understand that because no incident actually occurred, and because there are no witnesses it would be unrealistic to expect the plod to follow this up in detail, and my GF will report the incident to the bus company, but I'm pretty disappointed by the response of the police. Unfortunately I can't find an equivalent of Roadsafe for Thames Valley Police - does anyone know if one exists?
