I find Uniqlo's more hi-tech ranges to be quite good:

Why not just buy a more casual looking cycling jersey - something like this lovely Gazprom number?

This chap does some lovely old school jerseys on eBay. Take this as an example:

I wear Rapha touring shorts (from eBay) and I must have worn them, without exaggeration, 500 times at least. Great shorts. Normal underpants underneath. Sometimes leg or knee warmers if it's very cold.
I just wear any old t-shirt on top when it's warm like today. When it's colder I'll wear a merino base layer and a jacket maybe.

I wear misprinted t-shirts, pub crawl t-shirts, old shorts, old glued up shoes and a hand-me-down jacket.
ALL THE STYLEZ!

I saw two people commuting yesterday wearing bib shorts with the straps pulled down and a t-shirt on top. Let me be clear: this is haram.
The only time it's acceptable is if you're being interviewed on your rollers by a Eurosport reporter after having won, or narrowly lost, a grand-tour stage.

Just done this myself as riding FKW attracts all the wheel hugging nob-heads. Gone with Sidi MTB's with pulled up snazzy socks, SWRVE shorts as they're slim fitting and feel indestructible (didn't get on with Rapha's). Tried my Rapha merino T but it didn't breathe well so I've gone back to a loose jersey as i like having back pockets for phone and nunchucks.

+1 Uniqlo. They keep changing the name of them, but they do some slightly stretchy quick drying shorts that are great for commuting. They were called something like 'dry active'. Looks like these https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/men-kando-shorts-193164.html?dwvar_193164_color=COL06&dwvar_193164_size=SMA003&cgid= are what they're called now.

Decathalon do slightly stretchy plain black shorts, minimal with a few zipped pockets, they even have a 'gusset' -Ive worn my pair every day for a year and a half more or less and they're still good - that and they do plain-ish merino Ts for about £15. I've also got a pair of Chrome canvas SPD shoes, so I look like a regular human when off the bike.

Yea I did think Rapha but the only stuff I have been able to justify buying from there are their socks (which tend to be very nicely marked down in their sales which is nice)

I recently got my first gen Loopback trouser back from repair as the 'saddle patch' was worn out. So multiple cheap unqilo trousers vs one good rapha trouser.

Also may be worth getting padded undershorts for comfort.
Hi everyone - I've gotten a bit bored of wearing my bib shorts and cycling jersey for commuting and am wondering what people would recommend as an alternative to these. I just want to wear something a bit more casual but don't want to end up too sweaty like I would wearing a regular t shirt. Are there any brands people would recommend that sell sweat wicking clothes that are more casual than cycling jerseys?
