  • Nah, I just don't really see the fun/plus of riding deep in the drops yet. I also like to have full contact with my brake levers etc. (it's busy on my commute), so the hoods is my main position. Something just a bit lower would be welcome for variation.

Also, it might just be something to get uses to. I tested more 'comfortable' bikes but I would not ride those in the drops either. Not yet at least. ;)

  • You have just purchased a proper race bike with an aggressively low front end and those compact bars are pretty much as compact as you can get...

The 'plus' of riding in the drops is more weight over the front wheel so you can corner quicker and also descend in a safer manner as you'll have better/firmer control of your brakes (along with a lower centre of gravity).

It does seem a bit odd that you won't ride in the drops on a more 'comfortable' bike such as the Synapse and go ahead and purchase this anyway.

That said I regularly see guys riding around Regent's Park sitting bolt upright on full blown aero bikes so each to their own.

  • I actually really like riding it, and as mentioned I might get more pleasure out of the drops if it was 1-2 cm less deep.

Looking around I have come across plenty handlebars with 120-125mm drops, the C3 has 140mm. So it's not that much of a strange preference I think.

(Also it is already more 'comfortable' then my track bikes, those are setup more aggresive..)

Now looking into the 3T Ergonova.
