I also recommend Lee Cooper. Made a lovely one for me for a very reasonable price. Nice bloke, too. Doesn't do bike fits, mind. You need to get that done by someone else.

I thought the only reason to get a custom frame was so you can get a massive headtube, slam 'dat stem, and look rad

Ti as well actually.

Anyone know much about Stelbel? The frames and finishing look incredible, and the price is very keen for custom geometry and paint. What is the catch?

They're not exactly cheap. I love them, the sb/03 is to of my want list.

When you add up the frame, fork custom geo and custom paint the price is pretty good I think. I like the look of the Rodano personally, which is a bit cheaper.

I can't find the price list now but I seem to remember the sb/03 starting at around 1600 Euros, then it's plus paint etc. Very similar to what you would pay in the UK.

Yeah, but they're just as well made - so it's same price, same quality I guess. A guy at work is riding one and it is beautiful. Really lovely. He raves about it.
@StandardPractice
Hi J. Lee Cooper in Coventry might be worth asking. Made 14bike co's stuff I believe. Has built plenty of tourers I think. Maybe with the fitting by scherrit and a nice tubeset, his experience (like Winston and some others) could be just what you're after.
