  • Pukes on cock.

A quick look at their About page, suggests they live and die for "likes", "retweets" and other forms of virtual reach-arounds.

Do Madam Savage or any Savagettes indulge? A photo of the offending item (which describes everything I saw TBF) and the question "Is this acceptable?", broadcast online is likely your only recourse.

Failing which, no doubt the kids at your school are capable of launching an advanced cyber-warfare assault during their lunchbreak.

  • La De Da Living

Based in Cheltenham. Is @dancing james up for shitting on their doorstep?

  • Distance selling regs, non? Or is it not workable because the item is customised?

  • It's at home and I'm not but I'll do it later.

  • @Scilly.Suffolk, @Pifko and @Howard
I really don't like talking to any children, least of all mine but I may know some social media users who can spill the beans.
Shitting anywhere in their vicinity would be nice.
It is customised so they're using that loophole.
It's just such an awful POS compared to what you think they are offering on their site.
We'll see what happens. My Sis-in-law twats or similar and it was for her so once she has seen what she got and what she could have had she may well do the necessary.

  • I have reviewed the item but I very much doubt they'll publish that. My first email suggested that the "artisan" that worked on my knife was indeed the world famous Stevie Wonder. The reply gave the impression that they were extremely offended by that, which is nice.

  • Ha! No experience but I also want pics!

  • Definitely have to see pics.
Their write-up seems to kind of cover this kind of cock-up...

  • The more I read the more I think the amount of engagement is the issue. I think I'll try the half link first as it is the cheapest and easiest.

It only happened a couple of times on the way home and again only when setting off (and even then not every time). I couldn't replicate it when I wanted to so I'm guessing it is borderline. Even Gipsy Hill couldn't make it slip.

However, yesterday's and today's times up GH were both 5 seconds off my Strava PR for GH considering it's been about six months since I tried it on one gear so I'm still really happy with the bike.

  • What's the freewheel and how old is it? I found my old(ish) shimano freewheel would skip what felt like a few links at a time as it got older.

  • Brand new shimano freehub/wheel

  • Brand new shimano freehub/wheel

  • Is there a bar end shifter compatible with nexus/alfine 8?
I've found this but it's fugly

I've also found this but seems to be unavailable everywhere

  • That's all there is. Don't bother with the (versa?) drop bar shifters either, they're awful.

  • Any recommendations for a bike rack suitable for a hatchback ( '12 plate polo ) needs to carry at least 2 bikes and can be fitted and removed easily. Preferably not costing the earth but willing to spend up to around £100-120 if necessary.

  • The first rule of getting good customer service: be nice.

If you approached them with that Stevie Wonder jibe, the person answering the email may not be well disposed to helping you out.

  • I don't know if my little camera can do justice to this item and its presentation cardboard sleeve. Within an hour of opening the envelope we went and bought this https://www.johnlewis.com/vera-wang-by-wedgwood-love-knots-cake-slice-and-knife-set/p230484461

  • Chain not wrapped around properly on the sprocket is why it kept jumping.

  • If you want a little off the wall then the Green Pea is lovely. The surroundings are nothing special, but the guy that runs it (Tom) is great and he knows how to cook. The beer is nothing special but you can bring your own wine or beer for a few quid corkage and there's a fancy beer/wine shop over the road if you wanted something in particular.

Phone ahead to book a table if you're planning to go though, he's liable to turn away walk ins if he's a bit busy.

It's fallen a little in the Tripadvisor rankings. It's only 45th of 18,000 in London. Used to be top 10 ;)

  • Your message on a knife you chose?

  • Well not exactly. It was their example text but it was less cheesy than anything we could muster and it was the max 25 characters. So we went with it.

  • I don't know, and internet eyes and all that, but it seems to me they didn't have much choice in placement due to the engraving that was originally in place.
I'll get flamed for this as well, but it doesn't seem like an amazingly classy gift...
Comestibles or alcohol are always my fallback, so what do I know.

  • La De Da Living

That name alone would have caused me to give them a wide berth

    It was only £40

There's your trouble, if you were expecting something nice.

  • I'd seen that on Trip Advisor, and thought it looked good. I'll call for a table today.

I'll be in town for four days, so will be able to make it to most, if not all, these suggestions. Cheers, fellas.
