Picked up this bike it's
Dave Quinn 531competition. Very scraped but no rust really. Stripped it in the workshop and discovered the chrome forks have campy dropouts and so do the rear ones. Also has some weird marking on the bottom bracket I'll take a picture later. And it's drilled front and rear. There's also that black paint which is like rubber and also appears underneath in areas.I'm trying to figure out what to do with it currently. Was thinking risers or porter bars but unsure!

Finally cut off what excess steerer I had
If you ever want to get that last bit lower and tidy up above the stem , you know where to come :)

need to cut steerer, get one of those tidy top caps(^), sort it out with some nicer tyres (still got the crappy winter ones on there)...
but other than that quite happy with it, rides really nicely.
Mudguard and basket on there cos I've been using it for commuting.

Fitted a Flite (badly) and removed the Spinachi's. Needs a 130 stem ✌🏻️

Black or Silver VBCs cranks ? Fenders, couplers, discs, pedals -> silver // seatposts, saddles, rims, hubs -> blacks. For stoker, only black is avalaible in 165mm on bike 24.. -

Am I right in assuming that a ultegra 9-speed rear mech will work with a 7-speed hg casette and 7-speed dt shifters in indexed mode, or is there a difference in cabel travel due to the geometry of the derailleur cage?
-
• #114646
The shifting should be ok, although you might find the cage is a little on the narrow side so could be noisy.

• #114647
Thanks, hadn't thought of that, I'll see what I can do.

Cracking frame that, just lovely.
(Front wheels makes me want to vom tho, sorry)

I doubt the cage will rub: 9 speed chains are only a little narrower internally, it's 10 & 11 that are narrower externally too.
I think I saw @spotter once got a chainring from Amber Bike Components in Lithuania.
Or if anybody else has experience with them.
How long did it take for your chainring to arrive?
I ordered on the 29th of April.
