I did see a guy riding an older version today at the track.
I tried emailing Dolan to ask and the guy who responded was not very helpful unfortunately.

Yeah i totally agree. My point was Pre Cursas are as strong as any other frame, only you see more broken ones because everyone and their nan has owned one/ridden one at some point (I used to have one too)

Yes, sorry, that was what I was meaning too. Even with quite a large sample (79 bikes) and a lot of abuse (more than a personally owned track bike would likely see, so maybe closer to road use) they have proved to be pretty durable.

One nasty crash on the track would put the majority of carbon track frames out of action, alu too if it leaves a deep dent. Pre cursas have fairly thick walls and don't dent easily which is def a good thing for lock up and leave bikes
tldr; to anyone considering one, don't be put off by the cheap price, theyre really great frames

Can't fault mine.
cross link to the FXE model which is more road bias than the Pre Cursa, rack mounts, brake mounts, 2xbottle cage mounts, and different fork.

sweet built, what wheels are those?

These are novatecs and some noname 36h db rims from lbs.

The FXE seems a good option vs the PreCursa. What you lose in tight geometry, you make up for in possibility for dual brake, rack, bottle and mudguard mounts.

So true. We get a lot of bars into top tube incidents, hardly any dents.

@Squaredisk i got the impression the FXE was born because the PC was being used so much off track.
My thought process was the PC would be a lively handfull and not so practical as i run a rear brake, now that can be added, ugly but doable. The PC has some nice colour choices.
I went FXE as it's been relaxed for urban use and is more practical, but could be put into action. It's still fairly light and lively to ride. The frame alone price is seriously cheap but it's well made.

PC and FXE are the exact same geo and frame, except for the rear brake and bottle mounts

The PC has a steeper head angle than the FXE as well.

@Turkish is arguing more about everyday usage on the street which IMHO take a lots out on the frames than on a well maintained track with equally maintained bike.
