Nah you're right, plus its less likely to cause an issue if you warp a rim touring. For some reason though my Cross Check is just fractionally more lively than the stragglers I've tried. Could be half a dozen reasons for that tbf
The Cross Check is slightly lighter and the fork/chainstay aren't as stiff perhaps (disc need the fork arm to be stronger).
