That biryani is great, I think.
The coconut oil flavour is important, so don't substitute! -

Will bear that in mind, didn't make it last night cos Eurovision. Will make it later today hopefully.
Made about 10 portions of chilli tofu macaroni by mistake. Should keep me going for a while.

Green smoothies, worth it?
I've been having fruit/protein/coconut water smoothies in the morning as porridge isn't my ting. I need a Costco account as it's getting well pricey in frozen fruit from sainos.Does chucking a bunch of kale in with my berries and mango really have a magical effect of is it just for instagram points?
My new blender should come tomorrow to replace the knackered mini one so looking forward to liquefying all the things.

just remember, spiralina takes like stagnant puddles. Don't add too much. I put a teaspoon in my museli once. It was like licking the inside of a fish tank.

Agreed ;) but very good for you

I have it with water sometimes, when it doesn't fully dissolve and you get a mouthful of gelatinous blobs.. Bleuerrgh
-

Yes,
it reminds me of the seaside, but then confuses as it has none of the expected salty kick. -
• #3859
..put salt in it?
-
• #3860
I put a bit in my protein shakes sometimes... I think having something in their that's more overpowering helps... I use a vanilla powder that manages to come out on top of the smell and flavour of it.

Have ordered a tub of mixed green powder containing all the major hippy nutrients.
Liz nearly died of what looked a lot like dysentery last time she had anything containing spirulina/chlorella so not sure she'll get on board with it.
Bummed my blender didn't come today tho :( -

So who's going to the Vegan Market this Saturday?
-

Got some of that Alpro 'strained yoghurt' and it's banging. Stuck a bit of the Aldi linseed/flax on top for texture. Would recommend.

Would be the obvious answer,
but I haven't added any salt to what I cook/prepare for years. -
• #3865
Yes the odd blackest green colour of a spirulina-based motion does look odd in the toilet bowl.

• #3866
I was joking.

Tried it mixed with water - disgusting.
Tried it mixed with cola (to mask the taste) - very bad idea. I immediately projectile vomited into the sink.
Never again.

I'm sure a lot of us already know about Dale Vince. But did you know about his sporting interests? Time for an Ecotricity vegan cycle team...

Does anyone have suggestions for relatively healthy but satisfying post ride snacks? Trying to lose a bit of weight at the minute. Should be easy working as a courier and cycling for 8 hours a day but I tend to eat a fair amount of shit between meals.

Couple of tasty high protein things to grab from wholefood shops:
and
Or you could eat nuts/bananas/some sort of smoothie you make with non dairy milk and oat and maybe vegan protein powder.
Also Nakd bars are ace (you could make your own version):

I made the tofu burgers a few pages back - they were great so thanks @edmundro but I think I'm slightly confused about which tofu to use. It says you should use firm but is the Cauldron block (only one available locally) soft or firm?
Once I made it it felt a bit too melty, so suspect a firmer one would be better but only ever see them already flavored. Any tips?

We are! Excite.
I'll bet temple of seitan are mobbed and sell out before I arrive though.

The cauldron ones I've bought are firm, but softer than some locally produced firm tofu I get. Just make sure you squeeze out some water, it'll be fine.
Looks rad and got almost all the stuff required. Thanks
