I am doing a 'red in the wild' series. When I shoot colour, which is not often. I am not good at colour.

Lets just settle on scarlet ;)
Just got this one as a secondary body, cheap (£179) M mount camera with a rangefinder but no viewfinder (?!) has a meter too!

Now who wants to buy a black M6?
-
• #14014
Not so much a matter of who wants, but who can afford to buy a M6. Not me unfortunately :(

Flying to NYC for a week next Friday. How do I carry film safely? Any 'must visits' photography wise?
-
• #14016
Just carry it on in your hand luggage. The x-ray from those machines will not affect 400 ISO or slower films. You can ask them to hand check if you have faster films, or you could use one of those lead lined bags. I've never had a problem even with Portra 800.
The check-in luggage x-ray is more powerful though, and will probably wreck your film. Never tested this myself though.

thanks for the tips! I am hoping it will be bright (and warm) so wont be taking anything above 400.

Walk everywhere. Plenty of great vistas all over the place. Crossing the various bridges by foot is fun. Especially Williamsburg bridge.
Also, go to China town. It pisses on our poor excuse of a China town as it's a whole neighbourhood. -

And as you're in NYC, check out B&H Photo on 9th Ave not far from Penn Station and stock up on film there.
Take some fast film, or better yet, push the Arista film you're collecting off me to 800 and shoot at night, I think I prefer the city after the sun sets. -

Came back from NYC on Saturday and had wondered the exact same thing. My personal experience of flying with film is to make it as easy as possible for them... my go to is taking all of the films out of canisters and handing it to them in a clear sandwich style bag so they can see everything straight away. I found the best place for photos was under the Brooklyn bridge and Green-wood cemetery personally. From the same NYC rolls but scanned this one of Kew Gardens yesterday which I'd forgotten.
Minolta XG-M, Rokkor 50mm 1.7, Cheap AGFA Vista 200.

Does anyone have experience of using an attachable rangefinder - like the Lomo Blik?
I'm thinking of picking up a Rollei 35 but distance focusing seems like it'd be tricky - and an attachable rangefinder a good solution. Also, XA users - have you found that the focus drifts out over time? I've had my XA for years but now the focus is off (focusing behind subject). I've seen a video on how to adjust it ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGUIYMCgdjk
) has anyone tried this? -
