For ghetto first-timers: I used 19mm TESA tape on 17mm internal rims and it was just about right; running 35mm G-Ones. Front tyre went up straight away and held air at 60psi overnight. Rear tyre, I think I split the valve hole and it went up but was hissing fiercely; I redid the rim tape from scratch and it happened again, but it sounded like less air was escaping so I bunged in 60ml of Stan's goo, spun the wheel a few times and it's been fine since. Tl;dr: don't be afraid of small leaks around the valve when installing.
In terms of the tyres themselves, they're great. Running them at 45-50psi - not squirmy, great grip. They handle grit, gravel and smooth tarmac with aplomb. Can't do proper A/B test as now on an alu bike, but the ride is definitely nicer than 25mm Gators at 100psi on my former Genesis Equilibrium and I don't feel any slower. Was getting at least 1 pnctr/month on tubed tires; nothing in the months I've been running these.

I couldn't get Schwalbe pro ones to pop using co2 (got through 5) on my AC 420's. Got the Schwalbe version to do the job. A bit more enviro friendly too.

How low a pressure can you run safely on the 25mm pro ones? Eyeing up a long ride next week that might involve about 30 miles of dirt and gravel in the middle.

My experience of the Pro Ones is that they cut up super easily. Neither the tread or sidewalls are up to much - I'll be interested to know what state yours are in afterwards!

Sheeeeeit, well.. hope they go OK. I'll take a couple of tubes and a boot just in case. Got a set for a reasonable price so went for it. Amazingly easy setup I have to say - popped right into the rim with a normal track pump even without sealant.

I'm sure you'll be fine. Probably. They're just a bit delicate, and more so than the standard One in my experience.
Advice for next time you buy tires: If you want Pro One speed, but shed loads more grip and puncture proofing, then spend the money on IRC Formula Pro X-Guard (or the standard RBCC versions if you want something v slightly lighter). They're £50 a pop, but where I was getting unsealable punctures every fortnight or so on the Schwalbes, as in total ride-ending-nightmare-sealant-pissing-everywhere-jobs, I've had well over 1700km puncture free on the IRCs. Better in dry, wet, crap London roads - you name it, the IRCs smash the Schwalbes silly.

There is a reason why I buy them but I am out of stock till I get more. Not sure when that will be.
The thing I like the most about IRC formula pro tyres apart from the grip and puncture resistance is there longevity. 10000 km from a tyre is not usual. The roadlite is similarly durable but not as puncture resistant. however I have found they seal up rather well better than the schwables. I have been doing some testing with screwdrivers.Effetto mariposa sealant does not disappear into my tyres but maybe it is the butyl or latex lining the IRC tyres have that stops that from happening.
FINALLY got my 650b rims to seal up, I put a slightly narrower strip of gorilla tape down, really tightened up the valve and bounced the wheels for about 15 minutes each!
