I'm going to Berlin in July for a work conference. When visiting the city before, I've usually stayed more on the Eastern side of the city, but the conference I'm attending will be at Messe/CityCentre so I'm looking for central/west neighbourhoods that would be nice to stay in (I'm planning on AirBnB). Somewhere near the S5 S-Bahn line would be useful. Any suggestions?
The closest will be Charlottenburg, but probably not the best bet. Schöneberg is still reasonable close and loads of options for restaurants etc. Kreuzberg is another 15-20 min, but probably the best place to stay in terms of clubs, bars, restaurants etc..
Thanks, I will have a look. Definitely more about food and coffee shops than clubbing as I'll be there for work, but I definitely don't want to stay in the soulless corporate area around the convention center.
