No, I assume as it's looking for a 4G network to connect to and never finds one so it doesn't look for a 3G one or something. Manually changing the preferred network to 3G lets it find a 3G network and works fine. Don't know whether it's the phone or 3 (I've had it in more than one country). 4G/3G work fine in the UK with no manual switching.
