  • I've had decent coverage with 3 out there but you have to sometimes be prepared to disconnect from networks and connect to others manually. I find it will lock on to one and then that will get crap but you'll still be connected to it rather than a much faster network.

    It also depends on the phone hardware. Some only have one or two of multiple bands working so although the coverage is good your phone won't connect as it doesn't have that radio band. This is a good site for checking that http://willmyphonework.net/

  • That says my Z3 Compact isn't good for 2G or 3G but ok for 4G on Verizon. Seems odd.

    Oh, but then says it's got 2g, 3g and 4g on T-Mobile.

    Any others apart from those two I should consider?

    AT&T does 3g and 4g

  • I've struggled to connect to 4g when abroad with 3, even though the phone has at least one of the necessary bands. Not sure why and switching to 3g works.

  • How long are you there for? We used zipsim when we were there on holiday, super easy and worked everywhere really.
