Cross-post from functional bikes...
Anyone got any recommendations for a small rack top bag to fit on a salsa minimalist front rack? (Yes I know about the recall).
I normally strap a small dry bag there with sleeping bag in, but would like something more accessible, for food, charger etc.
I have toyed with switching to a rando bar bag but want to see what my options are for the rack first.

I have a fishing tackle bag. Plan is to sew some elastic/velcro straps to the base to keep it in place on the rack. Will be an exceptionally good value rando bag.
@ACRe19 gifted me the bag after spotting someone making their own in a Current Projects thread. He might be able to point you in the right direction. Think they had a Croix de Fer.
Anyway - maybe buy a bag you like, make your own straps/sew bungees into it?

Plot twists a-plenty. Kudos on keeping upright! That looks like a seriously heavy backpack :/

Anyone got a recommendation for touring tyres? Feel like I've been trusting Pasela for so long, yet things must have improved with other tyres right? Thinking 32s, suppleish not too rock-hard. I've had Conti Top Contact Touring recommended.

Another +1 for Marathon Supreme. Have them on the tandem and the town bike, they've held up really well. Only punctures I've had have been a pinch flat (my own damn fault) and a slice to the sidewall (the one vulnerability of the Supreme). Nothing through the tread at all.

Top Contact felt quite squirmy, even on high pressure.
Pasela is still a great tyres, not exactly supple but not too firm, if you're happy with them, stick with it.
Marathon Supreme is a great all rounder tyres, like like an oversized race tyres (key word; felt, not actually ride like an oversized race tyres), you should be able to get them for less than the price of a Pasela.

Anyone had a look at the MSR Hubba Tour 2?
I have a Hubba Hubba, which is great, but the extra storage and ability to pitch fly first is very tempting.

Pretty sure there has been some chat of that on here.

I went with a Wild Country Hoolie 3 ETC for 2-person touring. Fly first and masses of storage. Downside is that it's tunnel tent so needs guys.

you can fast pitch the Hubba Hubba to have the fly up first and then do the inside

Generic question, what do you people use to merge multiple segments of a route together when planning it? I created a route in segments, and now want to merge it to see the big picture before breaking it down again in day by day stages.

I've had a pair of 35c marathon supremes on since November, and they're perishing and cracking really badly on the centre, harder-compound, part of the tread. The bike is stored out of direct sunlight, so maybe they were just a dodgy batch, but I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anybody. Saying that: I've probably done about 4000 miles on them, and they're not showing much wear, and they do give a good ride. They were impressively grippy when they were new, but that's faded as the rubber has started to perish.
the triangle is exactly what i am going to use.
I got the whole 27-2 kit with kettle but it is quite big.
for just coffee/noodles i will take the triangle, it and the burner and other bits all fit in the smaller pot from the trangia kit - perfect!
i tested it while on a ride recently and even on a blustery day with no additional windshield it did a good job
