Ron Brown (yes, the same one as the Hounslow's Ron Brown Memorial 100) started racing before the war (born 1922) when a sub hour 25 was almost unheard of. He achieved this goal as a vet.
Ron was remarkable in many ways, but perhaps his most notable feature was the lack of a right arm.
This was my reasoning for suggesting new claims only - we're likely to see movement and changes as the year progresses rather than just an old set of unbeatable results.
Definitely wasn't just because I did a fixed TT the day after and know I won't stand a chance otherwise...
