What I was getting at, was if I wanted to have a crack at a MG record, do I need to wait for an MG event or could I enter any race and people will trust that my bike was to the MG specifications? I'm not casting any doubt on previous records, it was more thinking about my own record setting possibilities.
MG records in MG events only?
The Lea Valley event referred to above had a medium gear section within a normal event. I don't know whether there was any scrutiny of the bikes, but I will make enquiries.
It does seem to me that of all the possible records there might be, for this forum the MG 25
(and possibly MG 10) should be high on the list.
Irrespective of any claim my clubmate may have, I'd be inclined to take these claims on trust (I mean for these records generally). There's no money involved, and in any case what sort of person would want to cheat at this?
