Thanks for the info. Can I just install some spare V-brakes on the mounts, or is it some kind of proprietary mounting?

Nice! Loving the stem and tyres!

I was going to suggest v brakes - would be surprised if they're not just canti studs - all maguras I've seen were mounted to canti/v brake bosses.

Not sure if they made any mtb 26" with canti? Would want a pair if they did. Got some long travel SID's that I'll be putting on from time to time.

Quick google suggests they did a 26" canti model.

Anyone else reading these two deleted comments like stage directions; the two protagonists coming face to face without saying a word, like in the ballet of Romeo and Juliet...?
Just me then.

There a bit of Sergio Leone going on there, too. Rattlesnake sound effect. Morricone whistling-based theme in background.

A good rule of thumb is that for any picture of anything you post on the internet, there is someone somewhere in the world that will mastrubate to it.

After trying her on a few different bikes over the last few years and a lot of thought (from me) we got Mrs TM a new cannondale quick to add to her collection. Since getting the new bike she's really started getting cycling and we've been building up her mileage, started at 15 and now up to 50 with ease, doing a hilly 85 this Sunday and hoping that with the new bike and prep we've done she will make it through ok.
I'm tempted to try and lighten the bike up with a carbon Seatpost and better wheels but not sure it's worth it.

A hole already weighs nothing 😀

better wheels
Better tyres would be a good first step if it's still on the OEM ones, maybe drop a little weight and definitely reduce rolling resistance.
ohhh proper little time capsule @Pifko
https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/brakes/magura-service-kit-for-hydraulic-disk-or-rim-brakes/
SJS have a few other bit's, the brakes are still sold so a search should turn up info, they have been popular with Trials riders, maybe Billys worth a look.
For free and an ongoing project, i would look into home servicing the brakes, nothing to lose except the cost of a service kit, and i expect the complete system would still sell as loads of parts can still be reused.
If you get it rolling, those conti tyres are a hard compound and a bit exciting off road in the wet :)
