You can't know how you will improve in the future. Many riders achieve ambitions near the end of long careers.
Ron Brown (yes, the same one as the Hounslow's Ron Brown Memorial 100) started racing before the war (born 1922) when a sub hour 25 was almost unheard of. He achieved this goal as a vet.
Ron was remarkable in many ways, but perhaps his most notable feature was the lack of a right arm.
I like the idea of four records being distinct from club records... I think the club is great and it performs a useful role but comparatively few regular posters compete under it's banner. I would encourage the club to set up it's own set of records, but for the wider community I like the idea of forum records.
If we include historical submissions in a geared category then hippy and skinny will have it pretty much wrapped up!
