... proving opinion really is subjective.
I was going to suggest the JPS Lotus. But it's just black and gold. Castrol is most definitely a strong colour combo.

BASF was a £650 job, but every one is so completely different, I'd need to know more details of what you want for a quote. That Norco would prolly be a bit cheaper.
email me on rob@colourburnstudio.com if you want to discuss! -

I had a 16ooGT 74 JPS Capri with the proper chassis plate, Black & Gold RS Alloys, Black & Gold seats, eventually 2.0 L GT with flat backed valves, ported head and rejetted Granada V6 carb :)
Only surviving photo and I owned it for nine years 19-28 :)

I had a 2.0 JPS Capri. KWC58P.
Mine had little JPS vinyls behind the front wheel to match the pinstripes, which in assumed were OG but looking at yours maybe not.

I'm leaving London so finally need to buy a car in the next 3-4 months. I want something dirt cheap that isn't too shitty and is reasonable to insure with 0 NCB. I passed my test 13 years ago but haven't insured anything for years.
Tried an E46 330 but cheapest quote was £1.3k - way more than the 500bhp supercharged jag I also tried but definitely can't afford. -

Late to the party as usual
@hoops
Another vote from me for:
Repsol Cossie
White/Purple Silk Cut Jag
JPS
Warsteiner BMWs
Castrol Jag
Renown 787BAlso:
Nigh on impossible to find decent pics but the yellow and green chequered flag and the rainbow roof Lister Storms

An old Mondeo?

Does that meet the 'not too shitty' criteria? More tempted by the AWD x-types tbh.
Would prefer petrol and manual as well.

There's nice Volvo estate for sale somewhere in this thread :-)
-
• #34395
Haha! If it's under £1k, I'll take it.

That's actually quite a good price considering the work.
Will have a think...

Find some sort of online tool to work out what has cheap insurance. Then make a short list from that.
Might have been Whatcar? that used to have something that could factor everything even depreciation and boot volume.
As you've mentioned insurance isn't always priced as you'd expect.
If you want cheap, remember to factor in ease and price of replacements. Guessing parts wise £Toyota < £BMW.

I am fully baffled by insurance quotes now... Cheaper to insure an RS4 than an S4. Both much cheaper than a 3 series touring that is a tenth of the price.

My 911 is a fifth of the price of the 850R
