I have the cheapest cintiq (13" screen). It was a bit of a game-changer for me in terms of how it lets me work. Not tried an iPad pro, but i;ve heard good things about the pens.

The ipad pencil is good but if you are used to a wacom pen then you may find it too thin and heavy.
That and the ipad pro screen is too slippery.
I'm currently shopping/agonising over what to get... Cintiq, or mobile studio, or ipad or even a surface pro - which are actually very good.
Mainly for doing storyboards and the odd painting. -

I don't really have a frame of reference for the cintiq other than to compare it to 'blind' tablets. I'd used various Wacom tablets and then got the cintiq.
Still getting to grips with setting photoshop up the best way for it etc but it seems quite customisable - I've managed to create a more streamlined way of working than I had before already, using its custom keys.I've found it's really opened up the world of Photoshop brushes a bit more for me, for some reason. I used to stick to about 3 brushes that I'd made myself when I used the bamboo. Now it feels a lot more intuitive to use a wider range of media.
The only thing I find annoying about the cintiq is the cabling. Rubbish connectors, and a late-90s amount of thick cabling to contend with!

I have an old A4 wacom and the Lenovo yoga x1
Screens indeed do feel a little different from the wacom tablets.
It's also a little more hassle to use fingers and screen only, so you may end up bringing a mouse / keyboard for some tasks anyway. -

Cool :)
Tried oil ages ago, did like (not drying time though) but it doesn't come off anything...no studio.
Do you do humans too or animals / still life?
-
• #109
Humans, but much faster because they move.

That image did something funny to my eyes. The first time i looked at it, it appeared quite 'unresolved', but then it kind of came in to focus. now When i look at it, I can see the car clearly and can't re-create the blurred appearance I saw when i first looked at it. I thought it was a GIF at first!

Hmm. Curious. I guess the mind does work things out... Could also be screen etc Sounds cool anyway. I need to actually make the thing, you only see the 'subject' when you rotate around it. 😎

Now you've said its a car, I'm in the same boat.

Thanks. This close up of the mercedes is very cool. Reminds me of an artist on site where I work in woolwich called Caspar Sawyer who works with digital images. You can see some of his work (and mine) if you come to the open studios on the 20th / 21st next week. 400 other units open too. info here https://www.thames-sidestudios.co.uk/news/print-studios/open-studios-weekend-20-21-may-2017
