I've emailed Look to have a CAD file for this seatmast so I can pass it down to Matt for him to build it for me, but there is no response yet.

This genuinely cheered me up, thank you Pete! X

Good, you probably need it :)
A hex on Look might not be such a bad idea tbh...
Serious thoughts:
I doubt Look will send you the CAD file or drawings because it's their IP - you might pass it to a competitor or something. The normal approach in this situation would be to reverse engineer a seat mast (i.e. get one to Matt to copy) but that would mean having access to one - I presume you don't?

I think getting the bike/frame to Matt is probably the simplest thing here. Then he can bash various bits of metal until one of them fits :-)

I assume this has been seen?

It doesnt have to be an exact replica. As long as the internal is the same shape but marginally larger than the tube profile so the pressure is evenly distributed. I would definitely start looking into it, you don't know how long Look/Zyro will keep delaying for

it looks from the drawing above (found here - http://www.lookcycle.com/notices/notice-cadre-00003908-L96.pdf) that the seatpost clamp for a L96 doesn't expand inside the tube but uses bolts to compress between the two barrels inserted into the seat tube and the saddle rod head
I think that would make it much easier to make?

Been discussed before. Would be possible but requires drilling the seatmast. Also means less choice of height if you get it wrong

Yeah, was discussed quite a few pages back. Probably closer to the beginning of the thread than the current end if you wanted to find the discussion.

I dont think they'll hand out any drawings, but there is no harm in asking. Tube doesn't seem to be a true aerofoil, which is annoying as we could maybe have found a matching ID to OD steel or alloy aerofoil. Copying the profile of the mast is probably going to be the way to go about it using CAD (cardboard aided design) and then throwing that at fusion, but then machining something like a topper is going to be spendy for one off. So the other option is to make it out of sheet, but using a binder on a carbon foil is quite hard to do without uneven loading.
Ideally we can get a group buy going for 10 off and it becomes much more reasonable to machine.

How much does Ho have to pay every time he uses the BCC loaner?

Same as the rest of you
£25 a year subs and the fear of god, Matt & committee

Has this been resolved yet?

Maybe we can all chip in and buy Ho some araldite to glue his saddle on.

• #1544
How about jamming an smp on top of the mast? Should hold?

I've just read the last four months of this thread. Pretty stressful read to be honest.
Good things come to those who wait?? :/

Looks like a sophisticated phishing attack. Did you have to provide your bank details to confirm delivery?
I know it's not within there control and I totally agree with that, but I think what annoys me as I explain is the poor/non existent communication which informs me or lmnh that there is a delay from them, and it was me chasing them for updates.
From ordering it in way back in January and they say it will be here at beginning of April, to a minor delay to the end of April, then promising me it will be here on the first week of May and now saying it's will be at the end of May.
