I was talking about pork dishes and the like. In the Vegan Thread, it's somewhat unlikely that these would be considered worth preserving. They'd only be replaced by much better vegan dishes, of course. :) Anyway, I didn't get the impression that any such move was imminent.

A new vegetarian café on Lower Clapton Road:

As FGV says, strange it's not vegan to start with, but let's hope that perhaps they see the sense in making a change.

By the way, there doesn't seem to be any interest in a food meetup, so I'll shut up about it. :)

Would totally be up for vegan meetz if we lived in London. As it stands we'll be at the fat gay market after 3pm on the 20th if anyone's about

Going down to Brigton for a few days this week, can anyone reccomend some places to get tasty vegan munch?
-
• #3833
Terre a Terre's good but expensive for what it is... good ice cream place round the corner that sells some vegan bits, there was also a great place called Food for Friends that was really nice last time I went there last year... loads to choose from though as it's Brighton and it's cool like that
-
• #3834
Yeah Brighton is great in that most places have a good range of options for us. I used to live there back when I was a meat-eater but never really tried any of the solely vegan/veggie places. Thanks for the suggestions I'll check them out!

Purezza does the best vegan pizza I've ever had. Wai Kika Moo Kau for breakfast
-
• #3836
Purezza is AMAZING. There's killer doughnuts & coffee at Glazed. A belgian style frites place that makes all it's own sauces (can't remember what it's called, opposite the big Waterstones?) will do you a run down of all their vegan sauces(there are many, it's delicious). There's also a pub towards the sea end of the main street from the station to the sea, that does vegan junk food. Not been, but it was recommended to me.

I think the pub is the Hope and Ruin, with the Beezlebab vegan junk food kitchen- I've been there a couple of times and it's pretty awesome!

Heads up: Aldi sell vegan (coconut) ice cream now and it's fucking deeeelish.

@TomvanHalen Good shout with Wai Kika Moo Kau, they have saved me from many a hangover and the people who work there are super nice. I'm yet to lose my vegan pizza v-plates so will definitely check out Purezza.
@mrs_socks Can't picture the Belgian style place but those sauces sound intruiging so I will take a look for sure cheers!
I'm gonna be fat when I get back...

Fab! I think the chip place referred to is BeFries

For cheap vegan breakfast I recommend The Loving Hut on the south corner of The Level. It was £5.95 for the full english. If you can look past their cultish activities...
The Cowley Club on London Road often has cheap lunch options like soup and bread or a mixed plate of unusual savouries for < £5
VIPizza and Pizzaface both do vegan pizza deliveries too.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Anyone in the US tried an impossible burger yet? Looks pretty interesting. I'm not vegan or vegetarian but am kind of turning veggie, reluctantly.
-
• #3843
Yup! That's the one. Literally just chips, but I got like 10 different sauces 😍

Yeah, but do they put on cyclo-cross, too? :)

My dad took me to this Japanese restaurant near Kings Cross last night. I think it's all vegan on a Tuesday. It was really good.

itadakizen is all vegan all the time. It's delicious.

Not yet, I looked for it in vain when I was in the US last year... I think it was filtering from West to East when I was there but not reached Boston that I could see... I want to try it as I'm curious but I can only imagine how much they're going to cost
-

So it is! I got the Tuesday night bit off my old man, I've just looked at their website.
My son is already asking to go again. -

Just made cauliflower wings again. So freaking awesome.
Thug kitchen biryani tonight will hopefully be banging.
Want to try to make carbonara tomorrow if anyone has a good recipe?Went to Second Nature shop on Wood St today. Bargainicious veg and all the fancy vegan ingredients you could ever want but cheaper than amazon. Win.

They have cats? Didn't know that, but they've certainly got mice running about, which is always disconcerting when you're eating. Maybe the cats are vegan too.
