  • I hope the guy taking the photo you posted looks as happy and cheeky in the photographed guys photo

  • Fuck. I want to and I should do this but I am landing from NY at 10PM the day before ..

  • I may be wrong but I believe the guy in the background is @Hulsroy

  • I can't unsee him now, and it looks like he's carrying sick-air guy on his back.

    Whilst being out of focus

  • It's going to be skills drills I'd think, rather than lung bursting intervals, so you should be okay.

  • All I'm hearing is an excuse? Scared amey?

  • Where you based?

  • Manchester

  • Before I buy some new, does anyone have a pair of Shimano CX70 cantis for sale?

  • @fredtc are you interested in those tubs?

  • which tubs?

  • Does anyone have any interest in a pair of miche primatos tubs? Rim brake. I swapped the freehub so they use shimano now.
Freehub body and 105 cassette included. Plus a pair of specialised tracers (i think) on there. Look like loads of tyre life, rim life, cassette is used in 3 races maybe.

    Anyway.
    Anyone?
    £25?

  • I just accidentally bought a Hed Belgium C2 rim without realising it's not tubeless ready. It was £15 so it's not the end of the world, but is it even worth building up and trying tubeless or is it just going to burp all the time at 'cross pressures? or should i just sell on and get a tubeless ready rim?

  • I'm riding an All City Macho Man at the moment with a 105 groupset and BB7s. I know some people like them, but they just aren't cutting the mustard. I'm tempted to go hydraulic but the price seems eye-watering compared to MTB stuff. What would be my best option? I have some Evans vouchers kicking around, so bonus points if I can buy the kit from them. Best option so far seems to be to go for Ultegra hydro groupset, but that's £700. And I'd end up with 2X11 rather than 1X11 which seems to have done me well so far. Any thoughts?

  • Trp spyres.
    100 quid for a pair I think?

  • A few people have recommended these but I'm having a hard time believing they'll be all that good. You reckon it's worth a go?

  • Right. Just ordered one for the front (which is where I was having most bother) and if it's good I'll get a matching rear.

My other little issue is chainring... I'm using the original inner ring off a 2X crankset. What's a good narrow-wide in 110 bcd (think that's right for current 105)? I've had people recommend oval rings. Is that just voodoo?

  • I find Spyres to be far, far superior to BB7s. Hydros are another level better though.

Superstar do a narrow wide chainring at a reasonable price, although I've not used one (have one sat in my spares box though).

  • Oh, and oval rings work for some, not for others.

  • For the cash it's worth a go. Better than dropping the price of the bike again on some hydros.

I'll check out Superstar. Think I've got a RaceFace NW on my MTB but they don't seem to go small enough for my CX.

  • Tom Pidcock has signed with Telenet Fidea for the next 2 seasons.

    Great move up for him!

  • Juin Tech R1's are a nice half-way house https://www.edgesportsuk.com/store/juin-tech-r1-hydraulic-cable-pull-disc-brake-set-cyclocross.html haven't tried them but i haven't read a poor review.

  • I use the superstar on two bikes, one commute single speed, one on the caadx.
    No probs on either.

  • I've had them on what is now a spare cx bike for a couple of years now, they're very good brakes, far better than normal cable discs and take regular shimano pads

  • Yea these are good.
