Oh, for sure. It's just you are sharing the track with at least 20-30 other riders so each time round you end up taking different lines, braking at different points etc so it's a bit tricky to have a smooth, repeatable effort each lap. But yeah, that first lap definitely caught up with me toward the end.
Will definitely try a negative split next week.

FTP 376w (probably lower though, as I've been mainly drunk on stag do's the last few weeks).
Question, do you think it is possible to have a pacing strategy? If so I didn't attempt one, first lap power average was 437w and I suffered pretty badly the next couple!
