I did last years 100 on just 1.5L in my camelbak, worked well actually. No handups. Just stuffed 8 gels down my top too. Could have done with a few more gels for the ecca 100!

It depends on the temps. Because of that crazy early start on the Cambridge 100 I started with a 500ml bottle and hadn't finished it by >3hrs. I took a handup from the gf more because I felt bad for riding past her each lap than out of necessity. On the afternoon 100s though it can be hotter so I would be drinking more so it's nice to have the option of more fluids.
I tried the Camelbak thing but it was a no go for the front install and a bit annoying on my back so I stuck with bottles. Might revisit it if I do 100s again.

Well yeah, much. Your missus said she wanted a car because her and a bike wouldn't fit on the moto - priorities eh :). When you race the 100 you will need her handing up bottles so hurry up and get that van. You could get a wagon or hatchback. I got to all of my races in a little Focus without much drama.
