S, M or L
Depending on how wildly aggressive you do or do not have your road bike set-up :)

I'd say a 54cm road is s-m

Or how 'chuckable' you want it..

The road bikes I ride are vintage steel so the geo on seat and top tube is square where as the modern road bikes are sloping top tubes.

Start with an M, try an L if too cramped.

27.2mm dropper seatpost needed for a 6' 7" rider.
All I can find is a Thomson, but reviews say it's a bit on the short side.
TIA

Yeah, sorry I don't normally have any interest in off-road so never look in here.
Will have a browse this evening!

Thanks but that's 400mm/100mm, whereas the Thomson is 400mm/125mm and he could do with moar.

Ugh, giving me Dirty Reiver flashbacks.

Did you try one or surrounded by. Ones I have seen made me feel seasick just to look at when ridden
-

I was surrounded by them. I'd like to try one. I think they are interesting, but also wary that they are just undamped springs, so you may as well just run a larger tyre/lower pressure. The gravel fork is only 30mm travel, which is pretty pointless.
Only reason I'd consider owning one would be for another run at Tour Divide, because of zero maintenance and low weight. They are so ugly though.

Beastway last night was great. Lots of effort from trail builders with some new, more technical A lines (with B lines for those more wary too) and the new singletrack is beginning to bed in as well.
Now on every Wednesday weeknight for a few months.

What's the go to tyre for rigid bikes on the Tour Divide et al?
I'm looking for something durable, reasonably fast rolling, light, high volume and not too knobby for (hopefully) mostly dry trails. Specialized Renegades are meant to come in 2.3" (and I like the 1.95", apart from the lack of volume) but I can't find any in the UK.

I like Conti X-kings a lot for this
Have you no idea of the suffering I'm going through? My current wheels weigh nearly as much as my average lunch!!!
