Wasn't entirely sure whether to call it Louis or Lance..
Not a major problem for me now so I'll let you choose
Which for the princely sum of £30 (+ postage if you're that way inclined)

This is a late '50's consort
Apparently it's for lightweights

According to the catalogue this is plain gauge Reynolds 531,
Seat & headtube are both 72°
Key features include"pencil seatstays & gear shifter braze on.
Seat tube measures 22" c-c (56cm if you're a remain voter)
Top tube's a shade longer at 57cm.
(Don't know or care what it is in Imperial as I'm not xenophobic). -

This may help to show what it may have looked like had I built it into a sweet fixeh

I've just realised that you couldn't see the pics unless you're logged into my google account (which I'm kind of hoping you're not)
I've now uploaded them as attachments which should hopefully make things moar visible. -

How old is it? And was it used for competiton races?

How is this still available? A classic, British early 50's....at the dawn of the classic lightweights!
I'd sling as much GB stuff on it as I could, Williams or Durax chainset, and a simplex or Benelux derailleur, and roll with that as it is...geared!A bit of a waxing, to bring out the colours.....and don't you dare fucking 'restore' it!!

Really like the patina. Beautiful rat.
-
• #20
It was built in the late 1950s
It's not one of their superlight models, more of a clubman's bike.
It was designed for derailleur gears so it's a 'proper' 1950s racing bike. -

Haha,
Thanks for the input - fully agree with the build concept (if only I had the time).
I've still got the bars, stem, brake levers and saddle from my L'Eroica rat that I was originally planning to use on this

Ha! I still have painful memories of that bloody hill where everyone was zigzagging....then you danced up, had a chat, and powered up it! 😂

I was only telling someone the other day how you charmed the air hostess into taking your bottle of chianti onto the flight for you!!!
It was a fun weekend - must do it again sometime -

A bit skint & way to busy to build lovely vintage road-biek so I'm going to have to let this one go.
