Which 105 is it - 5600, 5700 or 5800?
5700 and 5800 have the longer new Super SLR cable pull and so will work with mini-Vs (I'm running 5700 levers with 90mm TRP CX9 brakes and they're great). 5600 don't have the longer pull and need shorter arms (<84mm). If you're running 5700/5800 with the shorter arms then you might have insufficient mechanical advantage and it'll feel underpowered.Do the rims have machined sidewalls? If there's anodising then it'll brake like wank.
