Why does the classic bundle have to include the merino arm warmers? I just want to buy the bibs and jersey as a bundle.
Edit - just realised the classic jersey contains merino as well. #veganproblemz

I've just received my Core rain jacket.
Ordered 2 sizes and wondering if it should be a fit or with some room? Also is it simply boil in the bag? It does not look like it will breathe. -
• #28605
By looks alone I doubt Theresa May breathes.

You'll struggle to find any jacket that is fully waterproof and 'breathes' and the Core range is the more affordable collection so won't be as highly technical, I'd recommend wearing some kind of long sleeve under it to keep the material away from the skin and try not to be too concerned with breathability. As for the fit, if there's much sagging / bunching when in the riding position, then I'd consider it too big. However if you're more comfortable with a roomier fit, then ride that.

Many thanks.

Need to use a discount I've got an undecided between the core bundle and the core rain pack bundle. Is the core rain jacket worth the £80 difference and is it any good?
-
• #28609
I once went into the store in Soho and one of the employees told me not to buy the core rain jacket. Boil. In. Bag.

• #28611
Ah I see, ok thanks.

Is the flyweight bundle worth using my 25% discount on?

Not sure about the PR of this
I'm more not sure about the journalism: given they have reported Rapha's perspective but no one else's they might as well have just copy pasted a press release. So good PR, bad journalism.
I don't know about M&A's really but if this helps get more potential buyers for Active surely it's all good?

I bet they'd never even worn one.
Access to cheap/free product means they've prolly only ever used a PT Race Cape. The Core Rain Jacket is actually quite good but like every other non-permeable membrane that works by keeping water out, will also keep hot wet air in.
-
• #28615
And there are plenty of non-permeable membranes available for less than half the price.
Core rain jacket - pricey and not nicer than anything else. -
• #28617
To give it it's credit, the Core Rain Jacket is very light & packable. Aside from the PT Windjacket, it's the lightest in the jacket range (a medium is 30g lighter than the (old) single-ply Classic Windjacket) and I think you'd be pushed to find anything like it if you are looking at price.
If you want a stowable jacket for showers/warm changeable conditions, it's worth considering. If you want a jacket for riding longer in the rain, a more substantial shell like the Race Cape (with venting features like cuff zips and velcro front) would be a better option.
Hope this is of assistance.

The collection as a whole is a bit uninspired really. I can see what they've tried to do with the (£170) pink jersey (it's Gazzetta Della Sport pages innit), but it just ends up looking a bit cheap and tacky

If anyone is looking for a bargain Rapha jersey, the Tempest Special Edition is £45, in most sizes, but not visible by browsing or search. Not sure why, but I stumbled across it while searching on Google. I ordered and it turned up fine.

I don't understand their special edition collections; the basic stuff is simple, classic, and looks good, but the limited ones often look a right dog's breakfast. IMO they should either have gone all out for the Gazetta look with black on pink, or gone totally understated with the pink jersey with a Coppi signature stitched on one of the back pockets or something.
I do like the warmup jacket, mind, though it's a bit out of my price range.

Could have given him one that fitted

It's a shame that Santini still don't do their wool jerseys they did for Prendas - Maglia Rosa, Nera and Bianchi.
My better half bought me the Maglia Rosa one a few years back for my birthday and it's one of my favourite jerseys - in fact I looked not too dissimilar to the above photo this morning with a black long sleeve base layer and bib shorts under it. Err, apart from a greying beard and a more beer enhanced physique. -

How warm is the brevet jacket when not on the move? Pondering picking one up using the survey discount for touring/bikepacking, both for sitting about the campsite and for extra warmth when bivvying. Is it likely to be any good for this?

I'd still take a down/synthetic down jacket tbh.
At this time of year I'd get a gilet tbh.

Looks like someone's left a red sock in the wash with an early 90's BHS t-shirt with the text that looks like a photo agency watermark
Overall impression is "oh, eh... cool..." whilst backing slowly away from the screen. Donotwant.jpg
it is a state of mind
