Have you though of getting them drilled for a brake ?
Its usually pretty quick and easily done on the Dolan / Alpina forks .

Hmmm. Yeah, not a bad shout I suppose. The crown is alu isn't it.

Crown and steerer are aluminium, if you have access to a pillar drill and a HSS or cobalt bits its a 10 min job.
If you have a decent LBS they can do it, I would take a tenner, your milage may differ !
Just bought a bike. Need to run a brake for my crusty old knees.
Would like to swap/px these undrilled ones for similar but drilled.
Looking for a straight swap. Would add cash if necessary. Straight forks. Alpina would be grand.
Frame size is 54 for an idea on steerer length.
